  1. A Night on the (small) Town

Treat your date to a night out  at one of our local eateries.  Cartrites, Hurstys and Café 349 are all taking reservations for Friday night and judging from some of their posts on Facebook, you are in for a real treat.

Make a reservation at La Junction in Campbell’s Bay where they are  offering a delicious  fixed menu of soup/ salad, bread, a choice of entrée, dessert and a wine or beer for $27.99.

If you are not big on all the fuss and formality, but still want to celebrate with your date, you may want to check out the TCRA in Ladysmith.  They are serving a Baked Bean and Ham Dinner on February 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

  1. Something Sweet for your Sweetheart

Everyone loves a sinful box of chocolates or a cute candy confection.  Familiprix on the highway has a sweet selection of boxed chocolates and candy as well as some cute items for kids.

Here’s a winning combination.  Pick up a bottle of local wine at the Little Red Wagon and pair it with some chocolate covered strawberries from the Pontiac Home Bakery.

Valu-mart has everything from heart shaped chocolate boxes to Valentine themed cookies, cakes and cupcakes as well as candy treats.  Leaving it until the last minute?  Valu-mart will be open until 9:00 p.m. on Friday evening.

  1. Make a Show of It

Take your date to see PHS’s performance of “Some Different Sides Of Love-
An evening of theatre and music, performed by Pontiac High students and directed by Phil Holmes on Thursday Feb 13 at 7:00 p.m.

  1. Express Yourself with a Thoughtful Card

Sometimes a perfectly written card can say it all.  Browse through the selection of sentimental greetings at W.A. Hodgins.  While you are there you can up your game by picking out some locally made gifts or choose something from their seasonal display.  Stedmans also has a wide selection of cards,  balloons and decorations.

Netflix and Chill

A night in is always a wonderful way to celebrate with the one you love.  Pick up take out from Chez In, Lellos or Billy T’s and indulge in a romantic movie on Netflix.  We suggest:  The Kissing Booth, Always be my Maybe, or To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
