The annual caravan of white trailers made their way into town this past weekend. One hundred and ninety in all brought over 700 people to the Shawville Country Jamboree and what a glorious weekend it was.

“We have nothing but rave reviews from the people in attendance, as well as the entertainers who said it was one of the best they have ever attended,” said Jamboree Chairman, Lion Edward Walsh.

Hosted by the Shawville Lions Club, the Jamboree is a major fundraising event.  The Club is an integral part of our community raising funds and distributing them to those in need in our community.

The event is also a great boost to our local business who saw an increase in customers over the Jamboree weekend.  “Local business owners were very pleased with the extra money the Jamboree brought into the community this past week.”

This year’s event was dedicated to the memory of Lion Elwyn “Teddy Bear” Brownlee who passed away in February.  See the dedication below.
