It’s an early Thanksgiving and we celebrate with a few hints of the beautiful summer remaining. The leaves are cooperating with the holiday and have begun turning to commemorate the beginning of the fall season. It will be a spectacular show this weekend and a perfect time to take a drive to enjoy the show.
There are three wonderful locations to visit this weekend where you can enjoy the fall splendor at it’s finest.
Chutes Coulonge Park
The natural beauty of this park is only enhanced by the gorgeous fall colours. Feeling adventurous take in the foliage while zipping though the air over the canyon. You can also enjoy a leisurely walk through the forest trail.
It’s a beautiful campground in the summer, complete with a very inviting beach, but it also has a 4km trail along Moore lake that you can walk or cycle on to enjoy the fall foliage. Neighbouring Castor Géant trail is perfect for mountain bikers looking to add a little adrenaline to their sightseeing.
Luskville Falls Trail
At 4.5km, the steepest trail in the park can be found on this very same Eardley Escarpment. The firetower at the top (and the view that comes with it) is very much worth the effort and let’s not forget the lookouts you’ll encounter on the way up! The view on the valley is unique.
Come this weekend to the Municipality of Pontiac Country Fair at the base of Luskville Falls. You will be greeted by local artisans and producers from the region showcasing their unique crafts and products. There will be fresh products, honey-based products, turned wooden crafts, and more.
The Fair is open from 10am to 4 pm, Saturday to Monday.
Parking will be at the Community Center (near the Town Hall) and a free shuttle is at your disposal.
